Inter-Cat Aggression Behaviour Consult
For two cats not getting along in the same household.
Service Description
PRE-ASSESSMENT OF EACH CAT + 1.5 HOUR BEHAVIOUR CONSULTATION + 30 MIN FOLLOW UP CONSULTATION Have your cats not been getting along for a while, or years? We can still help you If your cats are exhibiting inter-cat aggression, it is highly recommended that you take immediate steps to resolve this. Prevent your situation from worsening by taking immediate action. Quick intervention is key. Pre-Assessment: Once booked, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire that gives information on each cat’s personality, behaviour problems, daily routine, other pets and people in your household, along with a suite of other pertinent information. Our Animal Behaviourist assesses this information prior to your consultation, identifies relevant motivations, and starts working on your unique plan, even before you meet. Information provided by you is a crucial part of the process. Answer the questions openly and honestly and give as much information as possible to ensure you have provided all the necessary information to allow for a thorough pre-assessment. The Pre-assessment in Inter-cat aggression cases is vital. Both cats are assessed. Behaviour Consultation: The video call consultation will take 90 minutes (allow up to 2 hours). Both of your cats will be reviewed, alongside home set up. Problem behaviours and motivations will be explained, and your Behaviour Modification Plan will explain the techniques required to rectify the problem behaviour. No matter what the problem is, there will be a solution! Take your own notes or have a Behaviour Modification Plan prepared for you (additional fee). You now work on implementing your plan. Follow Up Consultation: As soon as you start implementing your plan, we recommend having your 30-minute Follow Up Consultation. This normally occurs within two weeks after your initial consultation. This ensures that you are undertaking the behaviour modification techniques correctly and allows our Behaviourist to tweak the plan if needed after she sees/hears how the initial implementation has gone. The most important reason for a fast Follow Up is to check you haven’t misinterpreted anything. Because if you have, you will not make efficient progress with your plan. Do I need a written Behaviour Modification Plan (BMP)? This is completely your choice. Come ready to take notes on the day and jot down your own plan. Or, our Behaviourist can write up your bespoke BMP at an additional cost.
