Service Description

PRE-ASSESSMENT FOR YOUR CAT + 1.5 HOUR BEHAVIOUR CONSULTATION + FREE 30 MIN FOLLOW-UP CONSULTATION Pre-Assessment: Once booked, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire that gives information on your cat’s personality, behaviour problems, daily routine, other pets and people in your household, along with a suite of other pertinent information. Our Animal Behaviourist assesses this information before your consultation, identifies relevant motivations, and starts working on your unique plan, even before you meet. Information provided by you is a crucial part of the process. Answer the questions openly and honestly and give as much information as possible to ensure you have provided all the necessary information to allow for a thorough pre-assessment. Behaviour Consultation: The consultation will take roughly 90 minutes via video call, but allow up to 2 hours. Your cat will be reviewed, alongside home set up, if applicable. Problem behaviours and motivations will be explained, and a Behaviour Modification Plan will be put in place explaining the techniques required to rectify the problem behaviour. No matter what the problem is, there will be a solution! You can take your own written notes during the consultation or the Animal Behaviourist can type you up a written Behaviour Modification Plan after the consultation for an additional fee. You now work on implementing your plan. Follow Up Consultation: As soon as you start implementing your plan, we recommend having your 30-minute Follow Up Consultation. This normally occurs within four weeks after your initial consultation. This ensures that you are undertaking the behaviour modification techniques correctly and allows our Behaviourist to tweak the plan if needed after she sees/hears how the initial implementation has gone. The most important reason for a fast Follow Up is to check you haven’t misinterpreted any information. Because if you have, you will not make efficient progress with your plan. Do I need a written Behaviour Modification Plan (BMP)? This is completely your choice. Come ready to take notes on the day and jot down your own plan. Or, our Behaviourist can write up your bespoke BMP at an additional cost. If you decide you want a written BMP, head to the Learning Zone page on our website and select the Behaviour Modification Plan to pay for your bespoke plan. Payment can be made either before or directly after your consultation. Please allow up to 14 days for your BMP to be prepared.
